ok this is the first tutorial we have done so it will prolly be re-written a few times but it should get u through it just fine. this was the first time i have done this which is why i messed up (very minor though) and made sure to note it so you wouldnt do the same thing. if u have any questions or comments on this dont hesitate to email me -here- have fun! - w

 pre install a: parts needed

a) electric crank and wiring harness

b) u dont really need it but i got the whole 4runner panel. u just need the switches and arm rest

pre install b: checking the parts..

a) is just so u can trace the switch box if u wanted.

b) is what you will be running the accessory (hot) wire to.

what i did was laid out the wiring harness and electric window crank along with a battery and tested it.

the right picture (b) is a quick run down on where u will need to hook up the accessory (hot) and ground wires. this will play into the install after you get it in.

 01). taking off the panel.

first thing we need to do is remove the panel, so we removed all of the misc junk that will get into the way of doing this...

tip: set the window at 1/2 way down and keep your window handle handy.

02). removing the old window crank.

a). use a 10mm to remove all the bolts.

b). you will need to remove this bolt also, this rail keeps the window in place and the crank is behind it.

 03). removing/installing the window

a simple 2 bolts for the uninstall and the same for the reinstall. after removing the bolts push the window all of the way up, it should stay up, if not just shove a screw driver in one of the holes to keep it in place.

04). still removing the old window crank.

when removing the crank, u will need to take it off by pulling it down to the bottom keeping it in place, then with the bolt removed (in step 2b) slip the crank rod in front the window rail then it will be in the position in the picture, ready to be taken out of the door.

05a). preparing the electric crank for install.

ok i did this backwards but im correcting it in the tutorial. first thing u want to do is remove the bars marked in the picture then you want to do step 05b :)

05b). preparing the electric crank for install.

now u need to remove the slide rail from the bottom of the electric crank and replace it with the slide rail from the manual crank. to do this, look at the slide rail and on one side there will be a tab blocking the wheel from coming completely off of the slide rail. after finding the tab, bend it up so that the wheel will clear the tab (careful not to break it) and u can roll the slide rail off of the crank bar, do the same to the manual crank. now slide the manual rail on where the electric rail was and bend the tab back over to prevent it from falling off.

 06). installing the electric crank.

when installing the crank remember how you took it out, it is going to slip in front of the window guide rail and will line up very similarly to the manual crank. u should have some testing wires still out from our parts test. after u line the holes, put 2 bolts in and make sure u put the crank at 1/2 way down. now reconnect the 2 bolts for the window (step3).. u are now done with the hard stuff :)

07). install of the armrest/switch panel.

line up the 4runner panel and the stock panel by the armrest holes (square) then simply poke a pen thru it and drill them out repeat process if u want the pocket.

08). more of the armrest/switch panel & completion.

a). do not forget to drill a hole for the wire to the switch box.

b). finished product.

09). what not to do & completion notes.

do not install the electric crank without removing he 2 cross bars mentioned in step 5a. (picture)
do not install anything without testing the parts.
do not cross the wires if u do the auto down will not work.

only run one wire from the cab to the door (accessory wire) and ground the other to the door. (its a pain in the ass to run wires from the cab to the door) use the pre install b step to see where to hook up the accessory wire.

 10). DONE!

a). before

b). after
