ok, this is our first shaving tutorial on lowbad.com performed by rick from necrotic (also one of the other members of lowbad) anyhow this should be done with some welding skills and a little body work skills or u can just say fuck it and try to learn starting from this! enjoy  - w

pre install a: parts / tools needed

a). bondo.
b). sander.
c). scrap metal.
d). 10mm, and a welder of course ;P

 01). removing items.

a). remove the hood squirts (mine were already off)

b). remove the antenna..

 02). removing the antenna.

a). removing the antenna, using a 10mm

b). make sure everything in disconnected inside the cab, then pull the cord thru

c). what the antenna looks like once out from behind the fender.

03). antenna removed and start of sanding.

a). picture of the antenna fully removed from the truck.

b). start sanding away the paint from the area we are going to weld.

04). cleaning it up.

clean areas, make sure everything is nice and clean (sanded to the metal) around each area that we are going to weld, good inch to inch and a half.

 05). scrap metal.

since we here at lowbad.com are all wealthy.. (hahaha) we happen to have my old fender (stock 2wd fender) laying around to use for scrap metal...

clean off the area and use some tin snips to cut a piece big enough for the antenna hole, and 2 hood squirts. (1 little bigger then a half dollar sized and 2 quarter sized pieces)

06). creating a  template

a). now we use the half dollar sized scrap and hold it up behind the fender so we can draw the exact size we need.

b). after we have the exact size, we use a sticker (tape) to hold it in place for our weld.

07). setting up the first weld.

a). taped up in place ready for a weld.

b). we now throw one to two welds to hold the metal in place and remove the tape waiting five minutes after the first one to two welds.

 08). tacking the first scrap.

ok, if we are looking kinda ugly, thats ok we will grind that away later anyhow most important thing is to make sure the scrap metal is secure and the tape is removed along with the 5 or so minute waiting period. while you are waiting it is best to start on the hood squirts, and continue on, in a circle so each item gets it proper cool down time and your time is not at waste. continue this and the next step until there are no more spaces in any of the welds, it may look ugly but as long as there is no spaces (holes) in your weld the bondo will not crack.

09). welding the hood squirt.

a). while we are waiting for the fender to cool down we can start on the hood,

b).  use a ratchet to hold the quarter sized scrap when tacking.

10). grinding away the excess weld.

a). grind the welds down till they are smooth.

b). antenna hole completely ground down ready for the next step.

 11). applying the bondo.

prepare the bondo and apply.

12). smoothing it out.

a). sand it all down until (using your hand) it feels smooth and the proper contour.

b). sand in an X motion, also we will be starting at 40 then 80 then move to 150.

13). complete the job.

a). after you feel you have a nice smooth straight contour spray that bad boy with some primer and u are almost ready for the paint booth.

b). this is manditory while working on your vehicle u must always tag it with lowbad.com..
